This is a very special 1968 triumph Bonneville that was remanufactured (not restored) by Britech New England in 1994, and has been ridden less than 300 miles since.
The bike started out as a very nice matching number Triumph that had been well cared for. Britech built it for Benny Bootle who was the president of the Antique Automobile Club of America. It won National; Champion Senior first place and Bike of the year in 1995. Everything has been repaired, replaced, or restored to better than new condition. The engine was remanufactured with new valves guides and springs, 3 angle valve seats and OEM gaskets. the cylinder was bored to .020 over with Hepolite pistons and rings. The crank was balanced to 74% to 5000 RPM with all new English mains and plain bearings. Gearbox was refreshed with new seals and bearings and the primary chain was replaced. Final drive chain and all wheel bearings were replaced.
It has NOS instruments, wiring harness, switches, cables and control levers and fuel tank trim. In 2000, the tires were replaced with OEM style Avons (which have spent almost no time in the sun and are still perfect with no cracks), and digital ignition.
