Triumph Bonneville – The Spirit of the Seventies

Ahh, the seventies. This was an era that spoke to boldness in the design of clothing, personal style, homes, cars and even motorcycles. As the years passed the seventies style went out and in came sleeker designs with a futuristic feel. However, there was a sect of people who still loved that seventies originality and cheered when it came back in style. The problem was, the style was for clothing only and other areas didn't come back, until now with the Triumph Bonneville. Now, those who love the seventies both the look and what they stood for have a bike to ride that works with their personality.

1970 Triumph Trophy

1970 Triumph Trophy

This is an excellent condition 1970 Triumph Trophy 250 motorcycle for sale. It kick-starts easily, runs as-new, and as you see is in remarkable cosmetic condition. All parts are authentic, and nothing has been done to "modernize" this bike, which would undermine its complete authenticity. Over the Wisconsin winter I had the local Triumph dealer go completely over this bike (invoice picture attached), and they put on a new chain, rear sprocket, front brake cable, and new gaskets. It is really a rare Triumph in this condition. This can be an everyday riding bike in the city, or a special attention-getting bike when Triumph owners convene or when out-and-about on the weekend. Please only serious Triumph aficionados bid, please. This level of restoration and authenticity of parts should be fully appreciated and carried-on. While the ebay description and odometer shows 1,214 miles, the amount is really unknown at this point. The original owner's manual and the May 1970 issue of Motorcyclist magazine with a review of this bike are included in the sale. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping charges.

Triumph Thunderbird 1600

In 2007, a rumor was spreading throughout the motorcycle press. Pictures had surfaced of a new motorcycle testing around the roads of Hinckley in the United Kingdom .. Speculation was that Triumph was going to put another large displacement bike on the road. Turns out, they were right! In mid 2008, at the Triumph dealer show, the company announced that they would be producing a 1600c.c. cruiser-type motorcycle to be called the Thunderbird 1600. It was an early display of the model-year 2010 motorcycle, which would reach showrooms, but not stay very long, in mid 2009.

1968 Triumph Bonneville

1968 Triumph Bonneville

This is a very special 1968 triumph Bonneville that was remanufactured (not restored) by Britech New England in 1994, and has been ridden less than 300 miles since.

The bike started out as a very nice matching number Triumph that had been well cared for. Britech built it for Benny Bootle who was the president of the Antique Automobile Club of America. It won National; Champion Senior first place and Bike of the year in 1995. Everything has been repaired, replaced, or restored to better than new condition. The engine was remanufactured with new valves guides and springs, 3 angle valve seats and OEM gaskets. the cylinder was bored to .020 over with Hepolite pistons and rings. The crank was balanced to 74% to 5000 RPM with all new English mains and plain bearings. Gearbox was refreshed with new seals and bearings and the primary chain was replaced. Final drive chain and all wheel bearings were replaced.

It has NOS instruments, wiring harness, switches, cables and control levers and fuel tank trim. In 2000, the tires were replaced with OEM style Avons (which have spent almost no time in the sun and are still perfect with no cracks), and digital ignition.
